AC Mains Controller for Input Voltage Control


This AC controller switches mains power and is designed for use with third party equipment that outputs a trigger voltage up to 24VDC rather than the opening or closing of contacts. Uses include switching on lights due the triggering of surveillance cameras, equipment under control via smart phones or sensors that output an analogue voltage. Other uses would be with devices powered by batteries.

The controller switches on when the voltage from a third party device in the range of 1.4VDC and up to 24VDC is applied to the input of the controller. When the input voltage drops below approximately 1.0VDC the controller switches off or after timing out switches off. The controller is a four input, dual output, 500W device. It can be used as a single unit controller or as two separate controllers within the same unit.

There are two configurations

  1. Configured as a single channel device using up to four inputs to control a single mains power output.
  2. Configured as a two channel device where two inputs control one mains power output and the other two inputs control a second mains power output.


Features

  • Adjustable timer settings allow the device to turn off automatically after a preset period from 10 seconds up to one hour. The timing commences after the input voltage goes low. Eight timer settings provide a range of 10 seconds through to 1 hour then infinity. If set to infinity the controller switches off when the input voltage goes low.
  • There are four DIP switches. The three RHS DIP switches are used for timing. The LHS DIP switch is used to select one or two channel configuration.
  • Supplied with two input connection cables & two 5.1K ohm resistors.

Connections

Single load with one input connection

  1. Plug one end of the supplied cable to pin 2 and pin 3 on Sensor Input 1. Pin 3 is 0V (GND).
  2.  Connect the other end of the cable to your third party device and place the supplied 5.1k ohm resistor across the terminals.
  3. Make 0V (GND) common for both devices.
  4. Leave the jumpers on Sensor Input 2, 3 & 4.
  5. Select single channel (Ch. 1) by pushing the LHS DIP switch down.
  6. Connect power to ANE connection terminals.
  7. Connect load to Load A.
  8. Set timer DIP switches for delay if required. Otherwise select infinity and load will switch with change of input.

Single load with two or more input connections

  1. Plug the first supplied cable onto pin 2 and pin 3 on Sensor Input 1. Pin 3 is 0V (GND).
  2. Plug the second supplied cable onto pin 2 and pin 3 on Sensor Input 2. Pin 3 is 0V (GND).
  3.  Connect the other end of the cables to your third party devices and place the supplied 5.1k ohm resistor across the terminals.
  4. Connect additional cables to Sensor Inputs 3 and 4 if required. Leave jumpers on if not in use.
  5. Select single channel (Ch. 1) by pushing the LHS DIP switch down.
  6. Connect power to ANE connection terminals.
  7. Connect load to Load A.
  8. Set timer DIP switches for delay if required. Delay period begins when the input trigger voltage goes below 1.0V.

Two individual loads

  1. Plug the first supplied cable onto pin 2 and pin 3 on Sensor Input 1. Pin 3 is 0V (GND).
  2. Plug the second supplied cable onto pin 2 and pin 3 on Sensor Input 3. Pin 3 is 0V (GND).
  3. On the other end of the cable connect the 5.1K ohm resistor across the two wires and connect to your third party device.
  4. Leave jumpers on Sensor Inputs 2 and 4 or plug in additional cables if required.
  5. Select two channels (Ch. 2) by pushing the LHS DIP switch to top.
  6. Connect power to ANE connection terminals.
  7. Connect first load to Load A.
  8. Connect second load to Load B.
  9. Set timer DIP switches for delay if required. Delay period begins when the input trigger voltage goes below 1.0V.
